Malaysian seeking the government to establish its first-ever Al-Quran University, a groundbreaking initiative poised to elevate the nation's role as a center of Islamic learning and propel Quranic scholarship onto the global stage. Backed by a coalition of Tahfiz and Quranic schools and associations, the university aims to nurture a new generation of Quranic leaders equipped with profound knowledge, critical thinking skills, and unwavering faith.
This is the vision of the Malaysian Association of Tahfizul Quran Institutions (PERMATA AL-QURAN MALAYSIA) and the Al-Quran Associations based throughout the nation. The president, Ustaz Haji Manolito bin Haji Mohd Dahlan urged the esteemed Y.A.B Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Malaysia’s 10th Prime Minister, to embrace this dream and bring about the establishment of the Al-Quran University Malaysia.
This university wouldn't be just another brick-and-mortar institution. It would be a citadel of knowledge, radiating the light of Quranic wisdom onto the world stage. Thinkers, researchers, and renowned hafiz would come together, weaving a tapestry of learning that transcends borders and generations.
The seeds of this vision have already been sown. For 15 years, dedicated scholars like Dr. Zulkifli bin Ahmad and Dato' Wan Muhammad bin Syeikh Abd Aziz have toiled tirelessly, laying the groundwork for this academic sanctuary. Past and present Ministers of Religious Affairs, from YB Dato Seri Jamil Khair to YB Datuk Dr Mohd Naim Mokhtar, have witnessed and embraced this aspiration.
“Even at the national level, voices like Dato' Dr. Zulkifli AL Bakri have resonated in the hallowed halls of Parliament, and the 8th Prime Minister, Y.A.B Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yasin, himself championed this cause. Now, under the esteemed leadership, Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim, we see a golden opportunity to make this dream a reality” as emphasized by Ustaz Manolito.
